  • Natural Treatments for Damaged Hair

     

     

    If your hair is sun-damaged and brittle, dried  out by use of chemical dyes, if it's oily, limp and lifeless, or if your hair is  getting a bit thin, there are herbal remedies that can restore your hair to a  healthy condition. Even if your hair is healthy, herbs will ensure that it  remains bouncy and lustrous.

     

    Normal Hair

    • Normal hair can benefit from the use of many different herbs but chamomile is  one of the best and easiest, and will leave your hair with a gentle herbal  scent. Simply brew a pot of chamomile tea using two tea bags and two cups of  water. Let the tea cool so the chamomile can steep. Wash your hair with your  favorite shampoo and pour the herbal tea through your hair. Towel dry your hair  without washing out the chamomile tea.

     

    Dry Hair

    • Rosemary, chamomile, comfrey, marigold, sage, and lavender are all beneficial  herbs for dry hair. Choose two or three in the form of essential oils and mix a  few drops with a tablespoon of olive, coconut or jojoba oil. Massage the herbal  oil through your hair. Let it sit for ten minutes, then wash your hair with a  gentle moisturizing  shampoo. Aloe  is also beneficial for dry hair, and can be combined with an equal amount of  castile soap and a teaspoon of your favorite oil for a nourishing  shampoo.

    Oily Hair

    • Mint shampoo is one of the best herbal treatments for oily hair and the clean,  refreshing scent is an added bonus. Brew a cup of mint tea by combining two  tablespoons of dried spearmint and two tablespoons of dried peppermint and a  tablespoon of dried sage in a cup of boiling water. Remove the tea from the heat  and let it steep for 30 minutes, then add it to 2/3 cup of mild shampoo such as  castile or baby shampoo. Store the mint shampoo in the  refrigerator.

    Dyed Hair

    • Try a simple rosemary hot-oil treatment for hair damaged by repeated use of  chemical dyes. Put 1/2 cup of olive or almond oil into a saucepan and add a  large handful of dried rosemary leaves. Heat the mixture until warm and strain  the oil. Massage the  rosemary hot-oil treatment through your hair. Wrap it in plastic wrap, put a  warm towel over the top and leave it in for 15-to-20 minutes. Shampoo your hair  thoroughly to remove the oil, and repeat the treatment every other  week.

    Lavender

    • Lavender is a very effective treatment for dry, brittle hair, and can be  combined with coconut oil for a nourishing scalp massage. Simply combine equal  parts of coconut oil and lavender oil, and massage it into your hair and scalp.  Leave it in your hair for a few minutes and shampoo as usual. Within a few days,  you should notice a marked difference in the condition of your  hair.

  • Make soda without chemicals

    Fruit Soda

    Another healthy alternative to soda is a drink made with fruit juice and club soda.  Like the Italian sodas, the possibilities are almost endless.  Various combinations of organic fruit juices, or organic fruit juices and tea are given some fizz by mixing them with the club soda.

    In this case, you will want to make your drink half club soda, half juice.

    Juicy Sodas :

    Orange-

    • 4 oz orange juice
    • 4 oz club soda

       

    Citrus Blast-

    • 1 oz orange
    • 1/2 oz lemon
    • 1/2 oz grapefruit
    • 1/2 oz key lime

       

    • 2 oz green tea
    • 4 oz club soda
    • a little sugar or honey if needed.

       

    Sparkling Fruit Punch

    • 4 oz organic mixed juice punch
    • 4 oz club soda

       

    Banana

    • 1 banana liquified in the blender
    • 4 oz club soda
    • 1 tsp lemon juice

    There are many combinations to choose from.  Any organic, 100% fruit juice will be a great addition to your homemade beverage.  Be sure to pour it into iced glasses because it is just so much better that way.

    WaterThe best alternative to anything is water. Pure water is  essential  to the body and the more of it, within reason, the better. 

    Whether you drink it iced, with a slice of lime or lemon, or at room temperature be sure, no matter what else you are drinking, that you get all the water your body needs. Eight 8 oz. glasses is only the bare minimum.

    And sadly, coffee does not count. Keep a large glass of water within reach and sip it often for the healthiest body ever.

  • Delcious Low Calorie tacos

    Quick and Easy Healthy Tacos

    (12 Whole Wheat tacos Shells)

    1 small onion, finely chopped
    2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
    1 tablespoon olive oil
    1 pound lean ground beef or turkey
    2 tablespoons chili powder
    1 teaspoon paprika
    1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro
    3/4 teaspoon salt
    Pepper
    12  Whole Wheat tortillas
    3/4 cup shredded reduced-fat Cheddar cheese (3 ounces)
    1 cup salsa
    Chopped tomatoes, lettuce, and onions for toppings
    1 avocado, peeled, seeded and chopped
    1/2 cup reduced-fat sour cream

    Cook onion and garlic in oil in large nonstick skillet over medium heat about 2 minutes or until onion is tender. Add turkey; cook about 5 minutes, breaking up large pieces, until turkey is no longer pink. Add chili powder, paprika, cilantro, salt and pepper; heat until hot.

    For tacos, heat taco shells in toaster oven 2 to 3 minutes or until hot. Spoon 2 tablespoons filling into each taco shell. For tortillas, microwave tortillas on High about 30 seconds each to soften. Spoon about ¼-1/3 cup filling down center of each tortilla. Top tacos or tortillas with cheese, salsa, tomatoes, lettuce, onion, avocado and sour cream. Roll tortillas around filling.

    Substitution: If you don't have seasonings on hand, you can substitute 1 envelope (1 1/4 ounces) taco seasoning mix for the garlic, chili powder, paprika, cilantro, salt and pepper.

    Add the taco seasoning mix with the turkey. Prepare as directed

    4. Join the YMCA  or GYM. purchase dumbbells, barbells, rings, ball exercises, etc are relatively cheap but equally effective in weight loss. Cardio workouts at home without equipment can also help you lose weight. Purchas workout programs that have good reviews. You can also use jump rope or you can do jogging or running exercises. Crunches, push ups, jumps and squats are known for their good effects on the muscles and form part of some effective ab exercises at home.


    5. When shopping, do not go on an empty stomach and you will be less likely to buy junk food. Keep junk food free ‘home so that will not be tempted to fal bad to old habitsl. If you don’t but can’t eat it>live junk food free remember sugary fatty foods are very bad for you body.


    6. To lose weight quickly, you must include food products mentioned in this list of low calorie foods in your diet. Avoid junk and processed fatty foods. Reduce intake of sweets and desserts, and avoid sugary drinks as well. Eat lots of vegetables and fruit as a diet high in fiber can help you lose weight quickly. Includes lean cuts of meat in their diet. Eat healthy foods and fresh, and whole grain products. For example, whole grain cereals, breads, healthy, nonfat yogurt, etc.


    7. Set a Goals to lose weight  keep a journal chart your  progress down. For example, "DEC 14/04 that will weigh 140 pounds or less. Put it somewhere where you see every day. This is one of the best natural weight lose. If you drink a soda even diet or 2 a day you are adding empty calories and unwanted processed chemicals to your body. If it is difficult to completely stop, reduce and drink water first instead.


    9. Drinking lots of  purifed water I prefer filter water due to the fact most bottle water companies do not disclose there water sources about 59%. Also plastic bottles are the number items found in wild life and land fills. Get a water filter they work great and will ave you lots of money.


    10. Consume most of your calories from raw fruits and vegetable. Always eat earlier in the day and always eat breakfast. Do not eat after 8pm and

    not only to avoid the calories, but added that sleep better. When on a resited carlorie in take consult with your doctor about taking multi vitamins.
